Adsense Tips & Revenue Journal

Over the last several months I have been working to improve my adsense revenue, you can follow along with me as I chart my progress month to month with google adsense. While monthly income is fun to look at, the real data that speaks volumes is the “Average Daily Income” which shows what has really happened over the past months. I have used two colors to show increases in daily income (green) or decreases (red).

What Happened In June:
June through me several curve balls but I managed to met my personal goal of 90 dollars a day, google decided it no longer liked my top income earner (website) which has averaged about $45 a day over the last four to five months. I am now averaging about $15 - $20 a day now …. ugh …. the life of an internet marketer. However my cycling site continued to earn more an more. Honestly I wish the niche was a bit more commerical (read popular in the U.S.) which would mean better daily earnings. However the site is ranking increadibly well in google and I think it will make it for the long haul. With the loss of a top income earning site I might not meet my income goal for July, as I post this it looks like it will be very close. Even tougher will be August and September, the good news is that google seams to favor another new site (10 months) faily well and that should pick up the slack for about 6 weeks in the fall.

What Happened In May:
Over all I am really happy with my results when I look back at the month of May, several sites which I launched in the summer of 2005 are now kicking in. One of these sites made over $350 dollars in May and I expect to hit $500 in June with explosive growth in July as the site is geared toward the Tour de France and traffic will explode. Half way though the month I switch over this site to a new wordpress theme that improved my adsense click though rate by about 2% (the ctr was already ok so this was a nice improvement). Since I switched over this next month should be even better for this site. I am further tweaking this template on this site right now, I have documented the plugins and tweaks to ad code (check out any posts with “adsense section targeting and the wordpress plugins catagory) and other improvements I have made to this theme. My plan is to create the best search engine friendly wordpress template and then install the theme on several other blogs of mine that are right now making money (but should easily earn more with the change). Great month I am feel proud of my hard work.

June: Monthly Income - $2,716.65
Average Daily Income – $90.55 (Barely met my daily goal of $90 a day)
CTR – Fantastic
Impressions – 108,975

May: Monthly Income – $2,569.69
Average Daily Income – $82.89 (Excellent progress, site that was started in 05 is now earning)
CTR – Strong
Impressions – 122,598

April: Monthly Income – $2,346.01
Average Daily Income – $78.20 (Improvement of nearly $10  a day from previous month)
CTR – Ok (drop of 1.5% from March)
Impressions – 128,602

March: Monthly Income – $2,127.21
Average Daily Income – $68.62
Average CTR – Strong
Impressions – 130,272

February: Monthly Income – $2,055.65
Average Daily Income – $73.42
Average CTR – Strong
