Easiest Way To Increase Your Adsense Income!

What is the golden ticket with google adsense, the adsense secret if you will that can have the most dramatic impact on your income in a matter of hours? I think this is what 90% of webmarketers are after online, whether it’s increasing their adsense income, selling more goods or driving more leads webmasters are after better returns. However I often let myself get in the way of earning more money and I am willing to bet lots and lots of other webmasters do the same darn thing!

So what is the google adsense secret?

Is it targeting high paying keywords, creating a site with content driven by your users or visitors like a message board, is it building up your link popularity to increase your pagerank and thus your traffic? Is it using the latest wiz bang techno product that is sure to impress your site visitors and keep them coming back?

Nope … It’s None Of Those Things

Rather, it’s working with the sites you have right now that are bring in traffic (and making sure your getting as much money as you can from current sites with a high click through rate). Taking the path of least resistance to higher revenue with the google adsense program, that’s what my goal is today, and you might want to look over the sites your running as well and make sure they are earning every little bit of income they can.

So often I am always trying to launch my next super site that is going to break the bank for me. I get all these crazy ideas, niche topics and domain names fly through my head by the dozens and daily. Over the years I have built dozens and dozens of sites. However with so many sites my time spent on each one gets cut down to where I just don’t have enough time to really get sites earning anything worth while. I decided last summer I would start to focus and continue to build, maintain and generally “baby” some of my hand picked sites until they started to make me some money.

I knew the easiest way to increase my earning would be to try to improve my CTR with adsense. During this time my culinary site had a click through rate that was very average and because of that I made very average income. Were talking about $2 – $5 a day on average over the course of about a 15 months. Then in July of 2005 I decided I should try to improve this sites earning and started playing around with ad placement. After about two days (maybe 2 hours each day) of trying various ad positions I increased my click through rate by more than 3 times!! That would be like taking site that average 500 visitors a day and increasing that to 1500 visitors a day (only that would be about 100 times harder). My earnings shot up after two days, and by August I was averaging nearly $20 – $25 dollars a day! My goal then was to get the site earning more than $30 a day ( I like that number because once you have a site making more than 30 bucks a day you have hit the $1000 a month mark).

Now I don’t take that culinary site of mine for granted and it has been a great earner for me over the last 9 months. Best part is that I probably spend no more than 5 hours a month “tweaking” the site and it is earning me on average about $25 to $40 a day (and that makes me one happy panda). The moral of the story is to log into your adsense account, and take a look at your sites that have the most traffic. If your average ctr is anything less than 5% you should have no problem bring that number up a bit.

Today I am going to spend a few hours toying with a sports blog I manage in hopes of increasing the CTR, while I can not share my CTR figures with you I will post in a month or so and let you know how my test is running.
