July Earnings - Ebay Goal Reached
So July is a wrap, I hope all my marketing friends out on the web did well. My earnings continue to climb I am happy to report in fact I have reached my first goal with ebay making over $1000 with the ebay affiliate program. My next goal with ebay will be to hit $2500 monthly, I hope to reach that goal by January 1 of 2008.

Looking back I am really amazed at just how quickly I was able to scale up the ebay program and drive traffic. In the graph above you can see how my earnings have climbed over the last few months. Compare my July 06 earnings on commission junction to my earnings last month and it is quite apparent that the ebay affiliate program works.
When I first got started promoting ebay I usually would send around 100 to 150 visitors daily to ebay. The first few days of August have been amazing and I am now driving more than 500 unique visitors daily to my favorite affiliate program currently. With so many powerful tools it is really easy to add links to your blog, site or html page.
New Goal / Testing Taking Place
So I am going to continue to promote ebay and am sure over the long run I can continue to push my earnings in the right direction. I am also going to be testing another method for monetizing a site.
Text ad links – why text ad links you might ask?
Well in short the program is simple and straight forward. Add the text ad links plugin to my sites, add the site to the text ad links program and hope advertisers want to advertise on my websites. To this point nearly all of my websites are based on wordpress. Using several plugins I can easily add ebay listings, post advertiser links and add content quickly and easily.
I would say I have about 20 sites that are popular enough to hopefully pull in some advertisers. It will be interesting to see, how my sites fare in this network as many of my sites are niche. Obviously if you have a site on poker, real estate or skin care you links will mostly sell out fast. However I have sites about car rims, Halloween and online marketing … I guess time will tell and I will keep you posted.

Brian
Can I ask how you managed to have it on this website myaffiliateprograms that you have a static page on the homepage with your introduction video and then what appears to be a few lists of your posts underneath called UPDATES
Did you use wordpress static feature and if so was it a page or a post you selected or did you use a plugin to create a sticky post at the top?
thanks, by the way loving your videos

Dave,
It can be done in two ways, both involve creating a “static page” and then pulling in your own rss feed for the “recent updates”. With the new Wordpress 2.0 series your now able to select a static page as your home page. So when I create a new site I simply click the options, reading tab and click “use static page for homepage”. I then select the default “about” static page and create the content I want.
The next step is to install a plugin and also install carp (an rss feed aggregator).
1) The plugin, I use run php to be able to execute php code within a blog “post”. Once the plugin is set up I then install carp and grab the code and add it to my static page.

Hey Brian
Follow-up to your text link ads comment. I started using it more with wordpress back in May and I have my results up. Not bad for sites that were doing ZERO
