With the new Wordpress 2.0 series your now able to select a static page as your home page. So when I create a new site I simply click the options, reading tab and click "use static page for homepage". I then select the default "about" static page and create the content I want. The next step is to install a plugin and also install carp (an rss feed aggregator). 1) The plugin, I use run php to be able to execute php code within a blog "post".
